  • You will be asked to complete a series of short online questionnaires to profile aspects of your lifestyle and to support your Health Assessment results.

  • HRV (heart rate variability) is the measure of the variation in time between every heartbeat.

This variation is controlled by your autonomic nervous system (ANS).

It works behind the scenes, automatically regulating your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and digestion among other key tasks.

The ANS is subdivided into two large components: the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the fight-or-flight mechanism and the relaxation response.

HRV is therefore used to measure ANS activity and to profile physiological stress and recovery balance.

  • When you breathe, you inhale oxygen into your blood. Your heart pumps the blood into your muscles. That oxygen fuels chemical reactions that give your muscles energy.

You breathe more quickly and deeply while exercising because your muscles need more energy to work harder.

VO2max measures how much oxygen (usually in milliliters) you breathe in while you exercise to the limit of your capacity. The more oxygen you inhale, the more energy your body can use.

Higher VO2max usually means better physical fitness, better stress tolerance and stronger recovery ability.

This can be seen in higher HRV values and better ANS balance, highlighting the benefits of good physical fitness.
