Go for an Early Morning Walk
Do you want a simple way to reduce your blood pressure? The key to success might be as simple as raising your morning movements!!
Research has shown that getting up and getting active in the morning for just 30 minutes reduces blood pressure for up to 8 hours, especially when compared to doing long periods of sitting instead. The even better news for women is that they were able to reduce their blood pressure more than men when they combined their morning exercise with regular, short breaks from sitting throughout the day!
Surely something so simple is worth a shot?! So here’s my challenge for you…
For the next 7 days start the day off with a bit of purposeful movement - go for a pre-breakfast brisk walk for 30 minutes!
If walking is not your thing then jog, dance, skip, swim - you decide on your morning movements!! Just make it so enjoyable you’ll want to keep repeating.
Try also leaving your trainers or walking shoes by the front door to make it irresistible to get out and get going! Prepare for all weather and have no excuses, you’ll never regret it once it’s done.
Go on, give it a go this week, and you’ll soon be enjoying a few new added health benefits, then keep at it until you’ve created a brand new habit!
